Spident’s resin-modified glass ionomer (RMGI) luting cement, EsCem RMGI, has been selected as a “CR Noteworthy Product” by Clinicians Report (CR), a U.S.-based clinical evaluation publication. This marks the first time a Korean chemical product has formally secured CR’s clinician evaluation metrics.

Spident stated that with EsCem RMGI being featured in CR, the product has now been presented with objective data based on evaluations by overseas clinicians. CR is a publication that assesses products based on real-world usage experiences from dental clinicians and quantifies the results, and it is widely cited across the global dental community. Spident explained that this represents a meaningful case in an area of global clinician evaluation that has not been easy for domestic companies to access.

According to CR, 87% of clinicians who participated in the evaluation said they would be willing to incorporate EsCem RMGI into their practice, while 91% rated it as “excellent or good” and indicated that they would recommend it to colleagues. Spident believes these results can provide more than simple promotional value when communicating the product’s competitiveness in overseas markets.

CR highlighted several key features of EsCem RMGI, including fluoride release, appropriate film thickness, ease of excess cement removal using 5-second tack curing, and aesthetic color reproduction. It also noted that, unlike conventional RMGI cements that use alumino-silicate glass fillers, EsCem RMGI incorporates zirconium silicate (ZrSiO4) fillers, which are designed to enhance radiopacity as well as compressive and flexural strength.

The automix syringe application was also included in the evaluation. The automatic mixing system helps reduce mixing variability and maintain consistent dispensing, making the cementation process more efficient and helping standardize operator handling.

A Spident representative said, “Through this CR listing, we have secured objective metrics that can be used in communication with overseas buyers and distributors. We plan to link this with our global distribution and partnership expansion strategy to further strengthen product credibility.”
